Question 1

What is Jilly Tykes?

Accepted Answer

Jilly Tykes is a small handmade crochet character designed to be a companion for brave little moments — first days, big games, exams, appointments, and all the times that feel exciting, nerve-wracking, or proud. Small enough for a pocket, soft enough to hold, and full of quiet character.

Question 2

Is each Jilly handmade?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every single Jilly is handmade by hand using soft yarn. No two are exactly alike, which is part of what makes each one special. You might notice slight variations — that is the handmade charm.

Question 3

Can I choose colours?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Each Jilly can be made in a range of yarn colours including oatmeal, dusty pink, sage green, sky blue, buttercup, lavender and more. You can also request custom colours to match a school uniform, football kit, or occasion.

Question 4

Can I request football or school colours?

Accepted Answer

Yes! One of the most popular requests. Just let us know the colours and we will create a Jilly to match — perfect for match days, first days, or end-of-term gifts.

Question 5

Is Jilly suitable for gifting?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Jilly is designed to be a thoughtful, meaningful gift — the kind people keep for years. Our Gift Edition is the perfect way to show someone you believe in them during a big moment.

Question 6

Can I add a gift message?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can add a personalised gift message at checkout, and we will include it on a handwritten card tucked inside the box.

Question 7

How long does personalisation take?

Accepted Answer

Personalised Jillys are made to order and typically take 5–7 working days. During busy periods it may take a little longer, but we will always keep you updated.

Question 8

What age is Jilly suitable for?

Accepted Answer

Jilly is loved by children and adults alike. As a handmade product with small parts (safety eyes), we recommend Jilly for ages 3 and above. For younger children, please contact us and we can discuss safety-eye-free options.

Question 9

How do I look after my Jilly?

Accepted Answer

Jilly is best surface-washed with a damp cloth. For a deeper clean, hand wash gently in cool water and reshape while damp. Jilly is tough enough for adventures but gentle enough to need a little care.
